Types of Treaties
Said states that wish to be recognized by the Empire must comply with the guidelines of Atlia's Diplomatic Policy, which in summary would be: To have at one year of existance, have claimed land that does not violate the Edgbaston Convention; as well as denying the existence and possibility of the so-called "micronational wars"; in addition to showing a sincere interest in cooperation with Atlia. Otherwise, the application will not be considered.
The types of diplomatic and cultural relations and their requirements are detailed below:
Act of Unilateral Recognition: Act by which the Atlian Empire unilaterally recognizes some micronation or macronational state. Used in special cases such as Molossia.
Understanding Agreement : Agreement established by the Empire with another micronation with a minimum of 6 months of existence to open a channel of dialogue on the way to formal diplomacy, this does not certify recognition by the Empire or any type of support or cooperation beyond the established in the Agreement. It will last 6 months, and if no sign of progress towards better diplomacy or benefit to Atlia is received, a time of 3 months will be established to be able to sign another one again after its end. Upon its signing, an Atlian diplomatic mission is created in said nation until formal diplomacy is established, or diplomatic contact ceases.
Act of Friendship and Mutual Cooperation : Creates a diplomatic mission between the Atlian Empire and the other signatory nation with a duration of one year, where a channel of dialogue towards formal diplomacy is opened. If Atlia does not receive any sign of progress towards better diplomacy or benefit to Atlia, a time of 6 months will be established to be able to sign another one after its term ends.
Educational Cooperation Agreement: Treaty with the purpose of generating cooperation in some educational and/or cultural matter between the Atlian Empire, or one of its member states, and another micronation. It does not mean mutual recognition. It may create a diplomatic mission to be agreed between the two parties.
Treaty of Cultural Exchange: Treaty with the sole purpose of creating a cultural exchange between both nations in a friendly interaction. It does not mean mutual recognition. It does not create any mission.
Mutual Recognition Treaty: Treaty in which the Atlian Empire will recognize the existence and sovereignty of a micronation/state and this will reciprocally recognize the sovereignty of the Atlian Empire. Member states of the empire can also establish these types of treaties with other micronations, with the consent of the Imperial Throne.
Treaty of Friendship and Mutual Cooperation: Treaty that certifies the friendship between the Atlian Empire, or one of its member states, and another micronation with which it already has a Treaty of Mutual Recognition. A wide variety of activities, joint projects, as well as other objectives that both signatories establish in the treaty can be added.
Requests made by member nations of organizations, alliances, zones and sectors will receive preference and greater consideration to be approved.
