What is the Kingdom of Atlia?
The Kingdom of Atlia is a micronation and founding state of the Atlian Empire. It is located mainly in the State of Tamaulipas, Mexico; with some territories, dukedoms and mandates in Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tabasco.
Founded by HI&RH Prince-Regent Luis Marcel on the 25 July, 2017. Originally founded as a constitutional monarchy, it was administered almost entirely by the Prince-Regent with some advice from the Council of Representatives, being an absolute monarchy for one year and three months; The Constitutional Monarchy was restored in June 2021. With no change in internal activity noted, the Prince-Regent transformed Atlia into a semi-constitutional monarchy, with the Imperial Throne having semi-absolute power, bounded by the Atlian Constitution on 26 July, 2022.
​The Empire of Atlia was created on the 7 September, 2022, with Atlia as its founding state.

Why is the Head of State not His Majesty King Geronimo II?
His Majesty King Geronimo II has shown no interest in taking up his post as Head of State of the Kingdom; thus, it falls to Prince Luis Marcel, the King's first-born, to assume the role as Prince-Regent. This in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Atlia.
Is Atlia a theocracy?
No. Atlia has recognized as the "Official Religion" to the Roman Catholic Religion because it is the predominant religion in the Kingdom. In article 5 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Atlia the freedom of belief in the Kingdom is stipulated and guaranteed.
