Government in the Kingdom of Atlia
The Kingdom of Atlia is a sovereign nation, member state of the Atlian Empire; governed under the system of a semi-constitutional monarchy, with the Imperial Throne (the King) as Head of State and Government, acting with semi-absolute powers, delimited by the Constitution of the Atlian Empire and the Constitution of the Kingdom of Atlia. The Council of Representatives assists the Imperial Throne in the legislative process matters of the Kingdom.
After the reform carried out with Royal Edict #24 on 26 July 2022 A.D.; the position of Prime Minister was dissolved and the current system came into effect.
With the Imperial Proclamation N° 6 - Reestructuration of the Imperial Government, published on 13 January 2023 A.D. dissolved the local offices of the government, giving the Imperial Ministries the juristiction over the administration of the Kingdom.
Imperial Throne
The King is the Head of State of the Kingdom of Atlia, with the functions of representing the Kingdom both inside and outside the nation. The Head of State has the functions of recommending, supervising and approving, together with the Council of Representatives, laws, activities, initiatives, reforms, etc. The current de facto Head of State is Prince Luis Marcel, Prince-Regent of Atlia.
Council of Representatives
The Council of Representatives is the second governing body of the Kingdom of Atlia. It is made up of people, called "representatives" and it is the function of the Council to represent the concerns of the people of Atlia before the Imperial Throne, as well as to propose from laws to activities to be carried out, supporting it in its development and realization. The Council of Representatives is divided in two chambers: The Upper House of the Council of Representatives, and the Lower House of the Council of Representatives.
Upper House of the Council of Representatives
They are representatives whose function is to give an opinion, propose and serve the functions of the Council of Representatives at the Imperial Throne's request. Their position is for life and they are granted a nobiliary title.
Lower House of the Council of Representatives
They are representatives who voluntarialy asked for the position, and whose function is to give an opinion, propose and serve the functions of the Council of Representatives. Their position lasts for two years and there must be at least three for the Lower House to be able to work.
