The Kingdom of the Southern Star is one of the two kingdoms that make up the United Kingdom of Esteleria, which is a member of the Atlian Empire; It is composed (ceremonially) of the Ball Pyramid Archipelago, Prince Island and its archipelago in California, the United States and an Antarctic Ceremonial Territory.

Founded by Archie Birch on 7 October, 2020 by merging the Principality of Ball's Pyramid and Connorensis. It existed as part of the Misberian Commonwealth, then as a condominium between the Kingdom of Atlia, the Antonian Empire and the Misberian Confederacy from November 2020 until February 2021, when Misberia-Antonia was dissolved. The Kingdom of Atlia claimed full right over the archipelago, making it a ceremonial claim with the name as the "Territory of Ball's Pyramid".

With the imperialization of Atlia, the Southern Star Kingdom came into existence again on 4 September, 2022.

In January 2024, two new territories were added to the Kingdom under the name "Surastrian Territory of Appledore-Lutecia" after Appledore-Lutecia's secession from the empire. These territories were later converted, along with others, into the Kingdom of Nordastria during the division of the Southern Star in April 2024 to create the United Kingdom of Esteleria.

The Southern Star has a long history with Atlia, in great part by granting it an imperial legacy from the territories previously claimed by the Zuhan Empire; which makes it an important part of Esteleria and the Empire, not to mention that the ceremonially claimed territories are key to Atlia's approach to the South Pacific region and its goals of raising awareness about climate change, commercial overfishing, of coastlines and bodies of water among other ecological causes.
