What is the Government Reform that takes effect today?

After two months of intense inactivity on the part of the Atlian community, the Prince-Regent proposed a reform to the organization of the Atlia government, which was subsequently approved unanimously by the Council of Representatives, as an attempt to ensure a more future active on the part of the citizenry.

According to Royal Edict #19, a document that establishes the changes to be made, is described below:

Dissolution of Ministries

The ministries of the Kingdom will be dissolved, as well as the commissions under their charge. All its functions have been delegated to the Executive Office, as well as to the Council of Representatives.

Representatives and Government

The members of the government will be called "representatives" and these may be "general representatives" or "specialized representatives", the latter being concentrated in a certain matter.

The new system of election of representatives will be by means of a random selection, and the selected person will be able to confirm or not their commitment to the position; if the last case is the case, a new selection is made. The position of Prime Minister will be the only popularly elected position.

The Government of Atlia will be made up of a maximum of 1/4 of its total legal-age population, this including the Prince-Regent and the Prime Minister.

Act of the Atlian Union

Despite its four years of existence, the commitment of the territories and their representatives to the Atlia project has not yet been formalized; With this in mind, a draft of a document has been written that would make official the conformation of all the territories of Atlia as part of it. This document being the Act of the Atlian Union.

The goal that is outlined in the edict is for this historic document to be ratified before the end of the current legislature. Likewise, there will be talks with the leaders of the territories so that there is no doubt or problem with this action.

Term of the II Legislature

The current Legislature, led by Prime Minister Ximena Gúzman, has February 7, 2022 marked as the date of the end of its functions. The II Legislature is to date the one that has administered the Kingdom for the longest time since its foundation.
