Multiple micronations sign the Halcyon Convention

Halcyon City - 01/NOV/2020

"The convention aims to avoid misclassifying 'wars', especially cases like calling a NERF gun fight a 'war' or raiding a [Discord] server 'cyber war'." - SMI Anthony de Antonia

To date, representatives of 8 micronations have signed and ratified the Halcyon Convention on the Definition of Micronational Armed Conflicts and Related Terms (Halcyon Convention) on the Discord server created for writing by the signatories.

The signing of the Halcyon Convention was opened yesterday (October 31) at 8:00 EST (7:00 Central Time) to the nations present on the Discord server dedicated to their writing. The signing of this will close on Monday, November 2 at 5:00 p.m. EST (4:00 p.m. Central Time), giving everyone 56 hours to sign to be considered "Original Signatory". Micronations that wish to sign after this date may do so, but they will not be recognized as "original signatories."

The Halcyon Convention seeks to establish clear definitions for the definition of micronational conflicts in general.

Among the nations that ratify it are the Kingdom of Atlia, the Antonian Empire, the Kingdom of Hrafnarfjall, the Gwlaskor of Glynawan, the Kingdom of Luana, the Confederation of Misberia, the Kingdom of Roskya, among others.

CTAVA contacted SMI Anthony of Antonia to obtain a more precise explanation of the Convention.

CTAVA: What is the Halcyon Convention?

SMIA: The Halcyon Convention is an intermicronational agreement that seeks to establish the definition of the terminology of micronational disputes, such as the term "war" or the term "revolution."

CTAVA: What does the Halcyon Convention aim to achieve?

SMIA: Our goal is to eliminate or at least stop situations where shootings with NERF pistols are called "wars", which they clearly are not, and cases where, for example, a simple incursion of discord has been called "cyber warfare. ". This misuse of terminology is a shameful stain on the micronational community and is disrespectful to veterans of actual wars and conflicts around the world.

CTAVA: How many micronations have signed the Convention to date?

SMIA: So far, 8 nations have signed the convention, with the hope of many more to join. The Convention has been public for about a day.

CTAVA: Are there any comments you would like to add?

SMIA: We thank all the signatories for attending the convention. We will strive determinedly to fulfill the objectives of this convention.
