Government approves "Sustainable Atlia" Program

After months of silence on the part of the government, and a notable delay in the agenda for 2022, the Government of Atlia, through the Office of Ecology, has initiated the ecological program "Sustainable Atlia"; showing signs of activity again.

Background

Since its founding, Atlia has sought ways to incorporate the ecological ideals of its founder, Prince Luis Marcel, more broadly into the Atlia citizenry. It wasn't until his recent move to the Nova Atlium Capital District that he saw a viable way to do an activity to engage more people: A box filled with PET plastic.

On 23/APR/22, Prince Luis proposed to the Council of Representatives the creation of a garbage separation and awareness program on waste reduction. Surprisingly, after a simple majority, the proposal was approved in the Council on 25/APR/22.

Due to other responsibilities of the Prince-Regent, personal and academic, it was not until yesterday (11/MAY/22) that he was able to finish writing what would be the Official Document of the Office of Ecology No. 1 - " Sustainable Atlia" Program.

The Program

The program has the following goals:

1. Create a culture of waste reduction, as well as recycling in Atlia citizenship.

2. Keep as much recyclable category waste out of Mexican landfills as possible.

Atlia plans to achieve these goals through the following actions:

• Publicize the various recyclable garbage collection points that citizens may have the possibility of taking advantage of for their correct disposal, even offering the Capital Districts as collection points.

• Share tips and measures to reduce waste, as well as recycling and reuse of waste, through Atlia's social networks.

• Recommend the establishment of a specific point in each of the private homes for the accumulation of recyclable waste; specifically PET plastic bottles and their screw caps, batteries, aluminum cans, paper, cardboard and glass.

The program will have an indefinite duration.
