Atlia participates with other nations in the Cultural Year of the Dragon

Updated: Feb 16

Nova Atlium - 10/02/2024

After a few weeks of planning, the Cultural Year of the Dragon 2024 is about to begin tomorrow, Sunday, February 11.

What is the Cultural Year of the Dragon?

The Cultural Year of the Dragon arises from the mutual initiative between the United Republic of Obscurium and the Principality of Hershwell. Atlia and then Lower Isturus were integrated into the planning started between Obscurium and Hershwell to have activities related to dragons throughout the year, arising from the fact that 2024 is the Year of the Dragon according to the Chinese zodiac, which begins on the day of today, Saturday, 10 February, and traditionally consists of several days of celebrations.

The start of the celebrations

On 11 February at 10:00 AM the keynote speeches will be made from the Obscurium Discord server, being broadcast by CTAVA. Organizers recommend attending local celebrations, learning more about the culture surrounding Chinese New Year celebrations, as well as appropriately decorating spaces for celebrations (and of course, having plenty of dragons).

An assistant to President Antonov of Obscurium recommended this page in English for inspiration in creating red signs to welcome the new lunar year, as well as other decorations to make at home.

Likewise, foods related to the Chinese New Year or dragons have been recommended to be prepared in the days immediately following the beginning of the Chinese New Year.
