Atlium - 27/JUN/2023

On 11/JUN/23, Atlia made history; not only in her own history, but in the history of Mexican micronationalism; the Prince-Regent paid a state visit to the Community of Nisean, FAS of the Atlian Empire and a close diplomatic partner of the Kingdod of Atlia.

Background

The organization of the state visit originated thanks to a personal trip that the Prince-Regent would make to the capital of Mexico; and after agreeing on the same idea with the Prime Minister of Nisea, His Excellency Augusto Izard, it was agreed to carry out a state visit prior to what was originally planned by Prince Luis.

Inviting other geographically close nations to Nisea was considered, but the idea did not go beyond negotiations with one of those nations.

A cultural visit itinerary was planned through the Mexican capital, culminating in the in-person signing of the Act of Association of the Community of Nisea to the Empire of Atlia.

The State Visit

The Prince-Regent met his Nisean counterpart in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Mexico City. They attended mass and after it they went out to lunch at the Casa de los Azulejos, where an official photo was taken.

The rest of the day was spent in a succession of cultural visits to various emblematic points of Mexico City, several of which the micronational leaders had to take public transportation. The Prince-Regent declared that he had been impressed with the architectural beauty of the Mexican capital.

The cultural visits culminated in the Miravalle Palace (Chapultepec Castle), where after visiting the museum there and paying respect to the legacy of the Mexican Emperor, Maximilian of Habsburg, both dignitaries ratified in situ the Act of Association to the Empire of Atlia of the Reformed Hispanic Autonomous Community of Nisea.

Future plans

After the state visit, both dignitaries agreed to continue strengthening bilateral relations between both nations; with cultural and diplomatic cooperation plans to be carried out in the coming years. Regarding this visit, both micronationalists see the event as a milestone in Mexican micronationalism, having no knowledge of a previous state visit on Mexican soil, between two Mexican micronations; This is not to mention the great achievement for each nation involved and the great significance that it entails in the relationship between both nations.
