Luis de Atlia

Atlia annexes Nisea in the midst of great internal and diplomatic development.

Atlium - 25/OCT/2024

The annexation marks the first significant step towards a new chapter in the history of the Communities of Nisea - Archduke Augustus I of Nisea, in an official statement from the Archduchy of Nisea regarding Nisea's annexation to Atlia.

The Atlian Empire and Nisea have had a fruitful history of cooperation since they engaged in diplomacy in 2022, to the extent that after the election of Prince Luis as Duke of Nisea on 1 December of the same year, a rapprochement beyond diplomacy between Atlium and the Capital District of Nisea was inevitable. Having been a Free Associated State of the Atlian Empire for just over a year and a half, Nisea made the decision to be annexed by Atlia for their mutual benefit of development and activity.

THOUGHTS OF THE PRINCE-REGENT

From what promised to be an "Annus Culturalis" for our nation, I thought that failing to meet our cultural objectives, due to force majeure, would be a great blow to the development of Atlia this year. Now we see how after a few days of dialogue Atlia is strengthening again, now from the sphere of activity and internal development with the annexation of Nisea, not to mention the great support we have received from Duke Luo of Basenberg.

I am glad to see Atlia prosper after a great lethargy due to personal reasons of mine and members of the Atlian government, and I hope that with our recent territorial acquisitions, we can continue working to provide the best service to the People of Atlia and our diplomatic allies.

ANNEXATION OF THE DUCHY OF BASENBERG

Coat of Arms of the Duchy of Basenberg

Prior to Nisea, Atlia had annexed a territory after a dialogue with a new imperial citizen: The Duchy of Basenberg, in the Kingdom of Atlia. Basenberg and his duke are located in Shanghai, P.R. of China. Its annexation and the assignment of the Duke of Basenberg as Imperial Senator, gave Atlia a fresh breath of legislative and diplomatic activity, leading to unparalleled development.

CREATION OF DIPLOMATIC LEGATIONS

Seeing the increased diplomatic reach in East Asia, the Imperial Ministry of Foreign Affairs saw it necessary to create Legations, embassy-like offices for a specific region rather than a sole nation. Led by diplomatic Legates, these will act as spokespersons for the Empire and will notify the Imperial Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Imperial Throne of diplomatic developments in the area and advise it on a better path of interactions with the region.

At the time of its creation, eight legations were created, listed below:

  • Legation to Northern America

  • Legation to Latin America and the Caribbean

  • Legation to Western Europe

  • Legation to Eastern Europe

  • Legation to the African Continent

  • Legation to the Asian Continent

  • Legation to Eastern Asia

  • Legation to Southeastern Asia and Oceania

De las cuales, solo se asignaron Legados a cuatro de estas:

  • Legation to Northern America – Legate Ambrose, King of Nordastria

  • Legation to Latin American and the Caribbean – Legate Augusto, Archduke of Nisea

  • Legation to Western Europe – Legate Thomas, Atlian Noble

  • Legation to Eastern Asia – Legate Luo, Duke of Basenberg

REFORMS TO NISEA AND ITS ANNEXATION TO ATLIA

On 22/OCT/2024, the then Prime Minister of Nisea, Augustus Izard, requested annexation to the Empire from the Prince-Regent, announcing the sending of an email with the specifications of the annexation. Within said mail, Nisea requested the preservation of its governmental structure, since the Member States are fully administered by the Imperial Ministries; In addition, they requested to maintain the freedom to establish diplomacy with whomever they wish, which is guaranteed by the Imperial Constitution, as long as the Imperial Throne is involved; as well as the preservation of its cultural diversity and the protection of its historical legacy; equally constitutionally guaranteed. With a statement, he made Nisea an Archduchy, granting himself the office of governor and Prince-Luis being the first Archduke of Nisea.

The letter was made known to the Imperial Senate on 23/OCT/2024 and no problem was seen in voting on its annexation to the Empire. 24 hours were given and at the end of these, yesterday, 24/OCT/2024, by absolute majority, Nisea was accepted into the Empire as a new Member State.

Today, 25 October, Nisea is officially part of the Atlian Empire, obtaining two votes within the Imperial Senate, in addition to its then Governor, Augustus Izard, was named Archduke of Nisea, giving Prince Luis the title of "Archduke Emeritus of Nisea".
